Strategic Purpose Statement
The aim of this introductory programme is to credentialise skills needed to install interior linings and joinery on residential buildings under supervision.

The candidates will either be preparing to, or already employed to, install interior linings and joinery. They are likely to be employed by companies building large numbers of residential buildings.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this micro-credential will be able to install interior linings and joinery under supervision. They will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of and apply safe working practices
- Demonstrate knowledge of and install interior joinery units
- Demonstrate knowledge of installing interior linings and trim
- Cut, fit, and fix interior linings and trim
- Select and install mechanical fixings and building hardware
- Use adhesives and sealants
- Clean and store all tools, plant, and equipment used

Completion of this micro-credential also prepares learners to undertake a full joinery, carpentry, or interior linings qualification.
Learners are not required to meet the standard of commercial competency.

The candidate must be employed by a carpentry business that meets BCITO's criteria for suitability to train and signed into a training agreement with the BCITO.
