he MCPP is a programme designed for active performing arts practitioners wishing to undertake personal and creative exploration through practice-based, culturally responsive research. Graduate profile
Graduates of this programme will be able to: 1.Demonstrate mastery and discipline specific expertise through research led, culturally responsive creative performance practices 2.Create novel pathways for engaging in, reporting and disseminating practice-based performance research to reveal, apply and share creative knowledge in Aotearoa,Te Moana Nui a Kiwa and across international platforms. 3.Critique, explore and analyse the genealogical, cultural, social, and political contexts of a range of creative research processes. 4.Uphold Te AoMāori and other appropriate indigenous perspectives, processes and world views within a range of creative performance practices. 5.Display mastery to develop and implement research methodologies that are respectful, culturally responsive, empathetic, ethical and useful in the field of creative performance practice. 6.Embrace the ambiguity of creative research to allow for the generation of new knowledge.

Entry Requirements
Students will be admitted to this course of study via application and interview. All applicants will be considered by an approvals committee which consists of the course coordinator and up to 4 appropriate academic staff to be appointed annually by the Tumuaki, Director or other designated senior academic leader. Applicants will be considered on the basis of eligibility for the programme, sufficient evidence of creative practice, appropriate area of focus, and the kura's capacity to provide adequate supervision for their desired study. Toi Whakaari will seek to maintain transparency, providing feedback to all applicants throughout the process. Applicants must meet the following conditions to be considered for entry: ?A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the creative or performing arts accompanied by relevant professional experience or postgraduate diploma. ?A Bachelor's degree in an unrelated discipline with a minimum of three years' applied work experience within a relevant field and can demonstrate the specific learning skills to succeed on the programme (such as referees and evidence of outcomes). ?Applicants without a degree will be considered where appropriate, provided they have at least five years relevant experience in a professional context and can demonstrate the specific learning skills to succeed on the programme (supported by referees and evidence). ?Applicants for whom English is not their first language are required to prove their English language proficiency by obtaining one of the following scores: IELTS (Academic)Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0 Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) Overall score of 79 and a writing score of 21 Cambridge English Qualifications C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 176.
