Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the demolition industry with people who have the knowledge and skills to carry out demolition-specific tasks on a range of demolition worksites.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to work under supervision to carry out demolition work safely, with consideration of waste minimisation and the impact of their work on the environment. This qualification recognises whāinga (aspirations) of Māori and Pacific People in the demolition industry and enables access to skills and knowledge to support career pathways. |

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of health and safety culture and practices, and risk factors, to work safely on a demolition worksite - Carry out demolition-specific work using a range of equipment. - Prepare demolition materials for reuse, recycling, and disposal. |

Graduates may pathway onto higher level qualifications in related sectors, such as the: - New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Single Site Supervision) (Level 4) [Ref: 2617] - New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trades Supervision (Level 5) with strands in Commercial Construction, Construction Related Manufacturing, Construction Related Trades, and Residential Building [Ref: 4237]. |
