Strategic Purpose Statement
The Master of Business Informatics (Business Analytics, Healthcare Informatics) is designed to provide relevant skills and advanced knowledge in the fields of business information technology and health informatics. Graduates will be equipped to effectively integrate and leverage information systems to enhance business processes, decision-making, and organisational performance in today's rapidly evolving digital environment.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master of Business Informatics with strands in Business Analytics and Healthcare Informatics will be able to:
- Apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in business information systems and database management systems to solve problems in business analytics and informatics for a business.
- Apply professional and ethical standards and cultural protocols in business informatics to uphold industry integrity in a commercial context.
- Critically analyse complex challenges in business informatics to configure strategic solutions independently or collaboratively in a business context.
Strand - Business Analytics
- Apply advanced analytical skills to extract insights from complex datasets and facilitate evidence-informed business decisions for an organisation.
Strand- Healthcare Informatics
- Apply advanced analytical skills to extract insights from health data and design secure healthcare solutions for an organisation.
Education pathways
Graduates of the Master of Business Informatics with strands in Business Analytics and Healthcare Informatics programme will have acquired a set of skills and knowledge that provides a relevant foundation to enable them to progress to doctoral level study in Business or other related fields. Students will be advised that they may need to complete additional research or courses to gain entry to a doctoral programme and that any decision on progression and admission will be subject to the requirements of the receiving institution.
Employment pathways
This programme enables students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in Business Informatics. Through the comprehensive taught courses together with the culminating industry-based capstone project and extensive networking opportunities, graduates will gain practical experience and build valuable connections, opening doors to diverse career paths.
Through this comprehensive approach, graduates will emerge from the programme with not only the necessary skills but also a well-established network to launch their careers.
Graduates will have the background and skills to be employed in a range of roles in Business Analytics and Healthcare Informatics
Entry Requirements
Every applicant must be approved for admission by the Faculty Leader or their delegate. Applicants must fulfil the following requirements for general admission into the Master of Business Informatics:
General Admission category
To be considered for general admission in the Business Analytics Strand, applicants must:
* Hold a bachelor's degree in (or equivalent qualification) and possess a keen interest in applying information technology and business analytics skills to solve problems across diverse industries. Relevant bachelor's degree programmes, domestic or international, may include, for example, computing, Information technology, commerce, accounting, marketing, finance, business information system, business information management, Arts, or related disciplines.
* Possess an acceptable equivalent qualification from a recognised university (or similar) overseas.
* Demonstrate their quantitative or analytical skills through their academic coursework, projects, or relevant work experience.

To be considered for general admission in the Healthcare Informatics strand, applicants must:
* Hold a bachelor's degree in (or equivalent qualification) and possess a keen interest in applying information technology and Healthcare informatics skills to solve problems in diverse sectors, including business and healthcare. Relevant bachelor's degree programmes, domestic or international, may include, for example, health informatics, health information management, nursing, healthcare administration, biomedical sciences, public health, psychology or related disciplines.
* Possess an acceptable equivalent qualification from a recognised university (or similar) overseas.
* Showcase that they have appropriate level of quantitative or analytical skills through their academic coursework, projects, or relevant work experience.
Entry will be dependent on an assessment of the candidate's level of achievement in their undergraduate programme or other prior study or experimental work-related learning, their potential for success on the programme, and/or their industry experience and portfolio strength.
Applicants who have completed the 360-credit Yoobee College of Creative Innovation's Bachelor of Software Engineering, Bachelor of Animation and Bachelor of Digital Innovation degree may be considered for admission to the MBI for Business Analytics strand.
Applicants who have English as a second language must demonstrate a level of English language competency equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (Academic) with no band less than 6.0.
Applicants who enroll in the blended programme must have access to a computer with prescribed basic hardware requirements as per marketing material, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection.
When required, the Faculty Leader may interview candidates to determine their eligibility for admission entry and selection into their intended programme of study.
