This micro-credential is for people working in Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) who have, or intend to have, a leadership role as a person in charge of a EOTC event.
Learners will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate and oversee the planning, implementation and review of EOTC events. |

Graduate profile |
People with this micro-credential will be able to facilitate and oversee the planning, implementation and review of an EOTC event, applying planning procedures, programme design, and risk and safety management to ensure effective and safe delivery of EOTC events.
On successful completion of this micro-credential, learners/ākonga will be able to 1 Apply planning procedures to prepare for an EOTC event, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures. 2 Design an EOTC programme that meets identified learner needs and intended educational outcomes. 3 Develop operational plans and resource requirements to support the safe and effective delivery of an EOTC event. 4 Communicate planning and operational requirements clearly to staff and participants to ensure shared understanding and coordinated delivery of an EOTC event. 5 Oversee the implementation of an EOTC event, coordinating staff, learners, and resources to achieve planned outcomes. 6 Lead the application of a safety management plan to identify and manage risks throughout an EOTC event. 7 Evaluate the effectiveness of the EOTC event against intended outcomes and make recommendations for future improvements. |

- New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor Leadership (Level 5) with strands in Abseil, Bush, Canoeing, Caving, High Ropes, High Wire, Mountain Biking (Grade 2), Rock Climbing, Sea Kayaking, Sit-on-top Kayaking and Whitewater Kayaking [Ref: 5214] - New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor Leadership (Level 6) with strands in Alpine, Bush, Canoeing, Caving, High Ropes, High Wire, Mountain Biking (Grade 4), Rock Climbing, Sea Kayaking, and Whitewater Kayaking [Ref: 5213] - New Zealand Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Education (Multi-skilled) (Level 5) [Ref: 3766] This qualification may lead to the Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) Coordinator (Micro-credential (Level 7) (ID: 129454). |

Entry Requirements |
Learners must have demonstrated experience running EOTC activities, including in multi-day and high risk EOTC events.
Academic requirements: It is recommended candidates have completed a Level 5 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent academic or professional achievement. |
