Strategic Purpose Statement
The Master of Business Intelligence equips learners with a strong understanding of descriptive and diagnostic analytics, utilising advanced professional skills to focus on business performance whilst improving organisations' operational efficiency and supporting ethical business decision-making. Graduates of this Master's degree will be capable of generating and applying actionable insights that drive operational optimisation and give organisations a decisive competitive advantage. The programme is aimed for graduates with prior study in related disciplines who aspire to progress into senior roles in business environments in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

Graduates will be equipped with advanced business knowledge and skills to deliver practical solutions and create value across diverse sectors and industries, contributing meaningfully to organisations, local communities, and the global economy.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this Master's Degree will be able to meet the following programme outcomes.

GPO1: Apply advanced discipline-specific theories, techniques and concepts to critically and professionally evaluate business intelligence strategies, change management processes, and emerging technologies that drive strategic organisational performance and data driven decision making in professional practice.
GPO2: Appraise literature and theories of ethical practices, legal requirements and sustainable business approaches to inform organisational management and strategic decision-making specific to business intelligence and relevant applications in Aotearoa New Zealand's bicultural society.
GPO3: Synthesise advanced analytical frameworks and emerging technologies to drive strategic business optimisation, entrepreneurial innovation, and sustainable digital transformation that enhances organisational performance and competitive advantage in contemporary business environments.
GPO4: Critically evaluate ethical leadership, cultural responsiveness, professional conduct and governance in relation to the strategic use of business intelligence for addressing complex challenges in diverse organisational contexts in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements
The minimum entry qualification for this Master's degree is:
- Bachelor's degree or Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate in a related discipline OR
- Graduate Diploma in a related discipline with an average grade of B- OR
- A combination of academic qualifications and relevant skills and knowledge acquired through work or professional experience (min. 2 ½ years in the last 6 years) that is deemed equivalent to the above.
Documentary evidence of the applicant's ability to undertake postgraduate study is required, including an official transcript of the qualification(s) achieved.

English Language Entry Requirements:
- Applicants must have sufficient competence in the English language to undertake the Programme which is taught and assessed in English AND
- International learners must meet the English Proficiency Outcomes for International learners as set out in Appendix 1 of the NZQCF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules. These can be accessed at https://www2.nzqa.govt.nz/

Visa and Insurance:
International learners require a valid visa and insurance to study on the programme. The type of visa will determine the mode of delivery.

Selection:
Applicants will be selected in order of successful application. This programme of study is open to those who have met the entrance requirements and programme admission regulations. Applicants may be interviewed in person or via a suitable digital platform.
