Broadly the degree structure progresses as follows:
? In Year One: learners acquire discrete skills and techniques across the disciplines (singing,
dancing and acting); performance opportunities are mostly in-house and focus on reinforcing
core skills.
? In Year Two: the emphasis is on the further development of skills and technique, but
beginning to integrate these and demonstrate them in public performances. Devised projects
are included for the first time (independent projects, guided by the tutor)
? Year Three: the learning environment has a tangible connection to the work culture and
lifestyle of the professional performer where successful, consecutive performances are
offered, supported by ongoing lessons in the disciplines that contribute to the performer's
areas of activity. Options for learners to develop a cohesive Capstone project include NASDA
productions, external production, self-devised work, creative (writing / composition)
projects and / or industry placements. Creative research projects are woven into the
performance outcomes for the final year.
