Strategic Purpose Statement |
This programme is designed for ākonga who already hold an undergraduate qualification and seek to develop applied knowledge, skills and capabilities in Human Resource Management (HRM).
This programme enables graduates to apply HRM strategies and practices that support performance, wellbeing, and equity, with professionalism and cultural responsiveness in diverse workplaces Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond. |

Graduates of the Graduate Diploma will be able to:
1. Employ digital skills and tools to enhance business processes in diverse contexts. 2. Think strategically to inform decision-making, grounded in ethics, equity, social responsibility and sustainable practice within the bicultural context of Aotearoa New Zealand. 3. Demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and critical thinking to solve problems and contribute to a dynamic and evolving global business environment drawing on both Māori and non-Māori approaches. 4. Communicate specialist knowledge confidently with relevant stakeholders in a professional manner, respecting te ao Māori and diverse cultural protocols. 5. Work independently and collaborate effectively in diverse cultural contexts and business environments. 6. Apply knowledge of how to influence and lead others guided by both Māori and non-Māori principles and values. 7. Effectively integrate knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori principles into applied management practices in Aotearoa New Zealand. 8. Apply human resource management practices and strategies that deliver organisational impact in Aotearoa New Zealand's diverse workplaces. |

Entry Requirements |
A bachelors degree in any field excluding human resource management.
Discretionary Admission International applicants and applicants under 20 years old at the start of the semester in which their study will commence, who do not meet the standard admission requirements stated above may apply for discretionary admission if they can demonstrate readiness for study at the level of the programme. Discretionary admission decisions will be made by the Dean of Faculty or their delegate. Special Admission Domestic applicants over 20 years old at the start of the semester in which their study will commence, who do not meet the standard admission requirements stated above, may apply for special admission. Special admission decisions will be made by the Dean of Faculty or their delegate. English Requirements If English is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need to provide a result from a test or qualification on the acceptable alternatives English Proficiency Outcomes Chart. Applicants who do not have evidence of English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, may contact us for an assessment. * IELTS 6.0 Academic (no lower than 5.5 in any subtest) Note: Applicants who have achieved New Zealand University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English language skills. IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form and are valid for two years from the date of the test. Selection Criteria Applicants who meet the entry requirements will be accepted into the programme in the order that applications are received. |

Students will learn the formula for developing successful employee-employer relations while gaining the skills essential for maintaining a satisfied and effective workforce. Students will learn and gain an understanding of human resource management practices and processes on organisational effectiveness; and how to apply the theory of human resource management principles to the workplace, helping staff and businesses meet their objectives. Areas of study include employment relations, organisational behaviour, advanced human resource management and contemporary issues in human resource management.
