Strategic Purpose Statement
Graduates will be able to effectively design and implement the teaching of English as an additional language in a variety of language learning contexts through critical discussion of current research, design, evaluation and implementation of digital and traditional teaching materials and examination of practice and planning. Content
Six compulsory courses in learning and teaching languages, language acquisition and linguistics.

A range of assessments will be used which may include take-home examinations, written assignments including lesson plans, material evaluation, policy documents, learner language assessments, evaluation of microteaching and activities, descriptive reviews of learning and teaching contexts, reports of field students, oral presentations and teaching resources and tasks. Students are required to write reflections and to participate in discussions with fellow students and to give peer feedback on coursework.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
