Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates will gain an understanding of science based equine studies and will be able to demonstrate
- an understanding of the underlying scientific knowledge in biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry and genetics for equine studies; - an understanding of applied sciences in animal science, animal production and pasture management; an understanding of business principles, especially in the areas of agribusiness economics, management, marketing and farm management; an understanding of communication and research skills including statistics. |

Entry Requirements |
Appliants must meet one of the following criteria: (1) At least 50 Level 2 NCEA credits in one year in best 4 subjects or, (2) Successful completion of a bridging/foundation programme; (3) Special Admission may be granted to applicants (aged 20 and over) with no formal qualifications for enthusiastic and motivated students, or with evidence of relevant prior learning and experience. This does not apply to International Students.
Approved bridging/foundation programmes include the EIT Certificate in Science and Technology. It is preferable that students have a minimum of 12 NCEA Level 2 credits in Chemistry or have completed an equivalent chemistry programme. |
