In EIT's Master of Nursing programme students are supported to extend their knowledge and advanced practice skills in order to enhance their capacity to improve patient outcome and health services. The programme is specifically designed to prepare nurses for advanced practice roles such as nurse practitioner, along with other career opportunities and advanced practice roles such as:

Entry Requirements
The academic entry requirement for the MN is one of the following: * completion of the HB3963 Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Registered Nurse Prescribing endorsement) with a B average or higher; or * a postgraduate nursing qualification deemed equivalent to the HB3963 Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Registered Nurse Prescribing endorsement) with a B average or higher; or * at the Dean's discretion, where an applicant's situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above. Normally, enrolment into the MN programme will be through the HB3963 Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Registered Nurse Prescribing endorsement). A minimum B average is required for confirmation of enrolment into the MN. Additional entry requirements for the MN are specified as follows by the NCNZ: * The applicant must be an RN with a current New Zealand practising certificate and be in good standing with the Council. * The applicant must have completed a minimum of three years' equivalent full-time relevant practice within the last five years (with at least one of the three years in full-time practice in New Zealand) in the intended area of practice as an NP. Applicants from countries in which English is not the primary spoken language must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include (i) completion of a programme of study in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply ), and (ii) approved scores on IELTS tests, namely an Academic score of 7 for reading, listening and speaking and a minimum score of 6.5 for writing (or accepted international equivalents e.g. OET a minimum score of 350 for reading, listening and speaking and minimum score of 300 for writing).
