Strategic Purpose Statement
Graduates will acquire the basic essential knowledge required of the professional road transport operator including theory required to pass the Land Transport NZ Class 2 learner licence test. Graduates will gain credit towards two national certificates: NC1227 National Certificate in Goods Service (Core Skills) (Forklifts); NC1228 National Certificate in Goods Service (Heavy Vehicle Driver).

Entry Requirements
4 credits in NCEA Level 1 literacy and numeracy. Demonstrate ability to drive a vehicle with manual transmission. Hold a Land Transport NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence for more than 6 months prior to start of programme. Hold a current Land Transport NZ DL9 Medical Certificate (a requirement for the Class 2 Drivers Licence). IELTS (5.5 Academic)

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
