Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates will be able to consult with a client, establish the needs of the client on the basis of the consultation, produce a basic level script/concept/storyboard; produce a basic Television Commercial under supervision; understand to a basic level the laws regarding copyright and New Zealands advertising standards; be able to produce desktop published documents with awareness of design principles; be able to produce an interactive
multimedia product on CD ROM; be able to produce a range of non-commercial and commercial-style radio advertisements; be able to assist in the setting up of an audio recording session; be able to assist in setting up a basic lighting for video recording, be able to safely handle and maintain professional equipment. Successful graduates may: - Move into higher-level qualifications such as the National Certificate in Film and Television (Level 4) with strands in Video/TV production or Multimedia/Graphics programmes in the IT school - Move into the labour market within the Media industry Student who successfully complete this qualification and who achieve a minimum of 75% in all achievement based assessment elements in the modules CA100, CA105, and CA 106 and pass all competency based components in these modules, may be given direct entry into WelTecs offering of the National Certificate in Film and Television (Level 4). |

Open. Applicants must have adequate vision (including colour vision), mobility and health to meet the requirements of field and teamwork situations. IELTS 5.5 or proficiency in English. Special entry is available
