Strategic Purpose Statement |
This programme allows students to build on their existing skills, and gain new skills and knowledge required for employment in the digital screen industry. It provides a platform for those wishing to expand into entrepreneurial activities to formalise and expand their skills
At the end of this programme the graduates are able to operate as freelance professionals who have: ·a firm understanding of digital filmmaking/broadcast equipment, digital acquisition formats and delivery/distribution types ·a good understanding of the social, economic, aesthetic and historical factors contributing to the contemporary film & TV production environment ·an ability to research and propose a digital filmmaking project (including realistic cost estimates) and critically reflect on the outcome of the entire production process ·an area of specialised knowledge in either Digital Music Production or Interactive Media Delivery ·a deeper understanding of the full scale of each of the pre-, production and post-production phases of a short digital film ·an understanding of the value of teamwork and communication processes essential for on-time and on-budget production work ·an effective portfolio/show-reel and a plan for their own career in the media/creative industries. Successful graduates of the Diploma of Digital Film-Making (Level 5) will have the possibility of gaining employment as a production or post-production assistant in a broadcast or digital filmmaking related production house (e.g. assistant set dresser, assistant editor). They may be able to apply their developed design/technology skills to a freelance career in their chosen field. |

National Cert in Film &TV; or Cert in Small Screen & Multimedia Prodn (Intro) with a credit in 3 subjects; or equivalent; or
Portfolio of work demonstrating equivalent knowledge/experience IELTS 5.5 or proficiency in English Special entry is available |
