Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates of the Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Management will be equipped and qualified to operate as Managers within the aircraft maintenance industry, in a civilian or military environment. They will possess the following skills and knowledge: resource planning and process management techniques; effective decision-making techniques; safe workshop practices in accordance with New Zealand Occupational Safety and Health standards; ability to interpret technical documentation, including aircraft maintenance documentation; information literacy, using textbooks and technical manuals; computer literacy, accessing online support resources; numeracy, and the ability to analyse calculations and data; ability to follow quality management principles. Graduates of the Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Management will be able to apply for entry to the NMIT Diploma in Aeronautical Maintenance Certification, to study towards the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence (AMEL).

Engineering Officers selected by RNZAF for their ability/potential to succeed on the course and aeronautical engineering management. Selection also based on individual career progression, and RNZAF staffing requirements for qualified Engineering Officers.
