Strategic Purpose Statement |
Students will be recognise signs of good health and ill health in animals, and check and report on livestock feeding and housing, have the skills required to move livestock in yards, prepare and use equipment, and handle and treat livestock as well as catch, restrain, and lift livestock manually within safe and personal limits; and move a herd or mob of livestock, as directed, without assistance, and will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the stockmanship requirements for animal handling and welfare, and perform required calculations.

Entry Requirements |
No minimum academic requirements. A current First Aid Certificate is required, or within 3 months of enrolment. IELTS 5.5 or equivalent for applicants with English as a 2nd language.

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
