The Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy Practice is a 120 credit, Level 8 programme. Ākonga choose four 30-credit courses (120 credits) or equivalent (e.g. 10 +20 credits to equal one of the 30 credit courses from the level 8 schedule). Occupational therapists work in a range of settings and practice areas, and as a result they have a range of diverse professional development needs. This programme provides opportunities for these ākonga to select courses most relevant to their needs. There are no compulsory 30 credit courses or prerequisites; ākonga select from the courses being offered that year. However, they are strongly advised, if they are considering progressing on to the Master of Occupational Therapy qualification, to complete PD435001 Research for Practice. Some courses may have specific requirements related to practice expertise, and these are identified on the course summary, and ākonga will be advised at enrolment.
