Holders of the Diploma in Applied Maori Health (Coexisting Disorders) will be competent and confident professional kaupapa Maori health practitioners and clinicians; able to produce a well-articulated account of how they work, and to demonstrate the competencies enabling them to attend to the wide range of presenting mental health illnesses and addictions; be able to evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of coexisting disorder strategies for hauora; empower Maori to take charge of their own personal health leading to whanau ora and hauora; be able to transition competently and confidently between te ao Maori and te ao Pakeha; and exhibit ?ihi?, ?whi? and ?wana? in their practice and promote values important to Maori communities.

Entry Requirements |
Entry is subject to applicants providing evidence of academic capability for Level 6 tertiary study (evidenced by prior tertiary study in health or related field at Levels 4 and 5, or by completion of a competency test), and/or professional and practical experience up to and equivalent to Level 6, (RPL), and of good character with a genuine desire to work in the mental health and addictions field.
