Strategic Purpose Statement
Graduates will have a deep understanding of values and practices, kaupapa and tikanga, inherited from tupuna Maori. They will be skilled, in theory and practice, in a range of areas including development of Maori broadcasting, tikanga derived from kaupapa Maori, the skills required in the pursuit of excellence in radio and/or television, ability to conduct research including interviews for the purpose of making programmes or reporting news. Graduates will be prepared to work in a range of roles in Maori broadcasting including production, advisory, and management roles in radio, television, and production companies. They will also be valuable contributors to committees or boards concerned with Maori Broadcasting.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have support from a hapu and iwi and 1. have completed an undergraduate degree (with commendable performance) or a bachelors degree with honours or a postgraduate diploma AND have experience for at least two years in the broadcasting industry; OR applicants must have accumulated advanced experience in broadcasting OR have substantial ability to construct stories by drawing on the matauranga continuum of Te kakano i ruia mai i Rangiatea AND 2. be competent in te reo Maori that is comparable to or higher than that required of year 3 studies at Te Wananga o Raukawa, which is the satisfactory completion of REO 3, OR which is assessed by Te Wananga o Raukawa to be sufficient to be given entry to "Whakatupu i Te Reo", MReo1A. Each applicant will be interviewed. Interviewees will be expected to demonstrate the potential to engage in scholarly activity particularly in the theory and practice of Maori broadcasting
