Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates will have a passion and expertise in the creation of objects of artistic expression underpinned by a sound knowledge and application of tikanga, kawa, and moteatea. They will demonstrate sound research practices in kaupapa Maori settings, and critique artistic work with insight and objectivity. Graduates will demonstrate a sound and thorough application of artistic technique using media in innovative and efficient ways.

The programme is organised into four pou - Waha Toi, Ringa Toi, Iri Toi and Tuku Toi delivered at each year level. Cultural concepts and technical knowledge acquired through practical work and experience is also analysed through wānanga learning, and complemented by academic, cultural and philosophical courses.
