Strategic Purpose Statement |
Students will have the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge in one or more of the fields of study offered for the Certificate at NZQF level 5 or above. The fields of study are Arts, Business, Design, Education, Environmental Planning, Health, Sport and Human Performance, Law, Management, Maori and Indigenous Studies, Science and Social Sciences. This one-year Certificate allows students to gain an introductory understanding of selected subjects of interest at undergraduate degree level.

The NZQF has ten levels. Level one is least complex and is often entry-level, for example foundation certificates. Levels eight to ten are the most complex, and include post-graduate study.

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
