Strategic Purpose Statement
The Graduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science aims to provide successful graduates with the relevant skills and knowledge to improve career prospects in a diversity of occupations as well as proving a pathway to further study.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science (Level 7) will demonstrate the competencies required to build on specific aspects of sport and fitness, together with the analytical and critical thinking skills required for research and further study in sport and exercise science.

Graduates will build on general knowledge in applied sport and exercise science and may possess specialist knowledge in areas such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, coaching, personal training, rehabilitation, exercise psychology, exercise nutrition or other sport related vocational specialism.

Employment pathways
Depending on electives selected, graduates may gain employment opportunities as self-employed or employed consultants and advisors in their specialist field (rehabilitation, personal training, coaching, or sports science) at all levels of sport, with national sporting organisations, regional sport teams or individual athletes.

Entry Requirements
Degree graduate from NZ Institution or Approved Accredited Institution overseas, or appropriate equivalent practical, professional or educational experiences. Internationals IELTS Score of 6.0 with a minimum score of 5.5 in the written band.
