Advice seen by the Minister

NZQA proactively releases material because the Minister of Education is committed to being open and transparent.

This information is released in two stages. Each week, we release a list of titles of briefings and reports that NZQA has sent to the Minister. Once a month we release the full text of the briefing and reports we gave the Minister.

We will release documents with some redactions. These redactions reflect the grounds for withholding information under the Official Information Act 1982.

Official Information Act releases

As part of our commitment to be open and transparent, we publish responses to selected OIA requests which the public might want to know about.

NZQA publishes responses to OIA requests, after requestors have received their response from us and only where there is no risk to the privacy of individuals.

When we respond to requestors we explain whether we intend to make the information available. We remove the names and addresses of requestor before we publish the OIA responses.

NZQA's OIA responses will typically be released on our website quarterly, or as otherwise determined.
