People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: the roles of race day official staff present on race day; types of races, the effect of adverse weather conditions on turf racetracks, and procedures for abandonment of a race meeting; the procedures for the running of a race, and the situations or events that can result in race delays, restarts, and abandonment; procedures for lodging and dealing with race enquiries; and the content of a racebook, and the criteria for paying out on race betting products.
