People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: wildlife attractants affecting an airport; management of the wildlife environment of an airport; gathering and reporting information on the presence of wildlife at an airport; methods for dispersal of bird hazards at an airport; the use of firearms and explosives used in the management of wildlife hazards at an airport; and demonstrate knowledge of, and evaluate techniques for, measurement and control of the concentration of wildlife food sources at an airport.
