This unit standard is intended for people who ride pacework on public training tracks in a thoroughbred racing context.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: ride horses with a range of experience, both solo and in company of other horses at pacework for exercise as instructed by the trainer; pull horse up and return to the trainer after the workout; verbally report on the way the horse completed the workout; and describe training principles and techniques that are commonly used to aid training of thoroughbred racehorses.
