People credited with this unit standard are able to: receive and identify the newly arrived horse and identify and label horse gear; treat the newly arrived horse for external and internal parasites, identify any signs of ill health, and describe reasons for isolating new arrivals; process horse documentation; and despatch the horse from the property.
