People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare the float or truck for the horse to enter; pack the vehicle with supplies to meet horse and staff personal gear for the duration of the event; prepare the horse with protective gear ready for travel, and describe the horse''s requirements during break stops; load the horse on a float or a truck safely in preparation for travel, describe safety considerations, and methods for loading and unloading difficult horses; describe common injuries and illnesses related to travelling horses; unload the horse from a float or a truck, and report health of the horse; and attend to immediate post-travel activities relating to horse and vehicle.
