This unit standard is for people involved with assisting the trainer in the preparation of horses for an event or competition.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify, catch, and restrain the horse; prepare the horse for gearing up; fit gear in preparation for exercise, according to supervisor's or trainer's instructions; fit protection to the lower leg of the horse; and attend to post-exercise activities.
