People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify race club officials, and racetrack layout and condition for racing at the racing venue; identify and describe the rules of racing applicable to the handler on raceday; identify and describe the form and race details of horse under direct care on raceday; prepare horse''s gear and self for raceday; prepare the horse for racing, and present the horse to the driver or jockey at the required time; attend to post-race procedures; and describe swabbing and sample collection procedures, and the duties of the horse handler during swabbing and sample collection.
