This theory-based unit standard is for people who are involved in installing, renting or selling child restraints, and/or providing information to people who will install, rent or buy child restraints. People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: the legislation and standards that relate to child restraints; types of collisions, and of safety belt systems and airbags and their interaction with child restraints; types of child restraints that are installed, rented or sold in New Zealand; how to install child restraints in a vehicle; and how to secure children into child restraints.
