This unit standard is for people who are employed in a poultry processing operation to carry out ante-mortem examinations of poultry used for human consumption.
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate understanding of: the purpose of, and presentation standards for poultry presented for ante-mortem examination; the equipment, requirements, and procedures to perform ante-mortem examination; the characteristics of healthy poultry; and the Animal Products Act 1999 as it applies to ante-mortem examination of poultry.
