People credited with this unit standard are able to: fit gear to a standardbred horse ensuring comfort for the horse, in preparation for trackwork according to supervisor''s instructions; prepare self and horse for driving; drive horse in training as instructed; report on the horse''s performance in the workout; attend to post exercise activities; clean, check, and store sulkies; and describe training principles, and alternative training methods that are commonly used to aid training.
