People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe the structures and components of animal cells, the passage of materials into and out of cells, tissue types, blood, and blood cell types of a companion animal; describe skeletal anatomy, muscles, tendons, and integument of a companion animal; describe body systems, endocrine glands, specialised body fluids, monogastric digestion, and homeostasis in a companion animal; and describe the main anatomical components and functions of special senses in a companion animal.
