Getting overseas qualifications recognised by NZQA
We are currently making changes to the way we work to improve our efficiency. These changes were embedded in April 2022 and have affected application processing times in the interim period. Once we receive all the relevant documents or information relating to your application, it may take up to 4 months to complete the evaluation. You can check the status of your application by logging into the online application portal or by contacting us.

Why we evaluate overseas qualifications
NZQA evaluates overseas tertiary and vocational qualifications to work out how they compare to New Zealand qualifications.
Evaluation results can help New Zealand organisations better understand your overseas qualification for immigration, employment or further study. Check if you need an evaluation with the organisation you are applying to.
