Strategic Purpose Statement |
A graduate of the Certificate in Vocational Study (Trades Academy) will be able to: Work safely in their discipline Communicate effectively Manage their own time and learning Search, access and select relevant information Create and enhance documents combining text and graphics Apply problem solving techniques Function successfully in a team Describe environmentally sustainable processes and practices in their industry Graduates will also have acquired a range of literacy and numeracy skills equipping them for employment, or for continuing study. In addition a graduate will have developed specialist skills and knowledge in one of the following strands: Automotive Technology Construction Creative Technologies Hairdressing and Beauty Services Hospitality Mechanical Engineering Plumbing and Gasfitting Holders of this qualification may apply for entry into further tertiary education and training programmes relating to their specialist strand. Graduates of this certificate will have the qualification to enter into an apprenticeship, or entry level or supervised position within the industry relating to their specialist strand.
