Strategic Purpose Statement |
This is an advanced qualification for experienced Animal Product Examiners working for an inspection agency in export animal product processing facilities.
The compulsory section of the qualification covers the knowledge and skills related to hygiene practices and risk management programmes. The Edible Areas strand covers the knowledge and skills related to compliance checking edible areas of premises. The Inedible Areas strand covers the knowledge and skills related to compliance checking inedible areas of premises. People awarded this qualification may be assessed as suitable and competent by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority Verification Agency to be a nominated person in accordance with the Animal Products (Export Requirement: Inspection Agencies Ante-Mortem and Post-Mortem Inspection) Notice 2009 and to undertake the tasks specified in Schedule 2. This qualification can follow on from the National Certificate in Animal Product Examination Services with strands in Sheep and Goats, Lambs, Cattle, Horses, Pigs, Bobby Calves, Deer, and Ostriches and Emus, and with optional strands in Other Species, and Pre-slaughter Examination Services [Ref: 0785]. |
