Entry Requirements |
Admission to the Bachelor of Art and Design (3D Animation and Visual Effects) 42 NCEA credits at level 3 (with at least 2 subjects scoring a minimum of 14 credits) over a maximum of 4 subjects. A minimum of 12 NCEA credits must also be achieved at Level 2 English and 14 NCEA credits at Level 1 Mathematics. Candidates should also have a minimum of 24 credits at Level 3 NCEA Art, Design or Technology subjects Equivalent qualification of above for example Cambridge International Examinations Have successfully completed a Media Design School Qualification, Level 5 or higher Have successfully completed a Qualification from another discipline, Level 4 or higher Discretionary entrance, where the applicant has significant art and design skills and experience

The Bachelor of Art and Design (3D Animation and Visual Effects) will include: A systematic and coherent introduction to a defined body of knowledge relating to 2D and 3D animation and 3D modelling Development of skills required to master the software, harware and tools used to represent, display and manipulate topological two and three dimensional objects on a computer screen Skills development in drawing, colour, character design and computer applications Fundamental theory and concepts including 3D modelling, digital art, life drawing, compositing and rendering Introduction to various roles within a production team
