Strategic Purpose Statement |
The Master of Professional Practice (with majors in Leadership, Trauma-Responsive Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Leadership and Service)) enables the development of the dispositions, as well as advanced level knowledge and skills to engage in research-informed professional practice which is understood as an expression of a call of the biblical narrative. Graduates further develop the capacity to engage in embodied scholarship that is informed by faith, inspired by hope and motivated by love, to undertake supervised independent research, to honour ethical principles central to human flourishing, including those derived from Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and those pertaining to culturally responsive practice, and to contribute as leaders to the wider professional community.

Entry Requirements |
Candidates for the degree of Master of Professional Practice shall before enrolment have satisfied all the normal requirements for entry to the Institute and either:
gained an appropriate NZQA approved Bachelor's degree or Bachelor's degree with Honours; or * (MPP (Leadership)) Have successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice and Leadership or an equivalent postgraduate diploma from another institution. * (MPP (Trauma-Responsive Therapy)) Have successfully completed the Diploma in Professional Practice (Trauma-Responsive Therapy) with a minimum average grade of 75% (B+) or an equivalent postgraduate diploma in a closely related field from another institution. * (MPP (Trauma-Informed Leadership and Service)) Have successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Trauma-Informed Leadership and Service with a minimum average grade of 75% (B+) or an equivalent postgraduate diploma in a closely related field from another institution. An additional entry requirement for the MPP (Trauma-Responsive Therapy) is that applicants must supply evidence of provisional or full membership of an appropriate professional body with supervised practice experience in responding to trauma. |
