Strategic Purpose Statement
This qualification provides the industrial textile fabrication industry with trade qualified people who are able to produce and assemble complete fabricated items.

Graduates will benefit by having a qualification which recognises skills and knowledge in specialist areas of industrial textile fabrication enabling improved job performance and providing a credential to advance career opportunities.

This qualification is intended to be used in a variety of industrial textile fabrication industry contexts and cater to both computer aided manufacturing and custom hand-built contexts. Graduates will generally work unsupervised.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Interpret customer requirements, and respond to technical issues as required in an industrial textile fabrication environment.
- Contribute to fabrication and assembly of industrial textile products; control production timeframes; and plan, allocate and organise work.
- Evaluate industrial textile fabrication product quality in accordance with job specifications and organisational requirements.
Education pathways
This qualification builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Textile Fabrication (Level 3) [Ref: 2543-3] and may lead to higher level business qualifications such as the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) with strands in Accounting, Administration and Technology, Human Resource Management, Leadership and Management, Marketing and Sales, and Project Management [Ref: 2459].

Credits
