Strategic Purpose Statement
This qualification is for people with a sound knowledge of te reo and tikanga (plural) who wish to analyse cultural, linguistic, and value-driven concepts within a specified range of contexts.

Graduates will be able to demonstrate a broad understanding and knowledge of te reo and tikanga and able to lead and facilitate activities with cultural awareness, communication, and collaboration.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Analyse and apply aspects of theoretical and practical knowledge of te reo and tikanga to strengthen solutions-focussed strategies as an expression of mana ao tūroa.
- Research appropriate sources of information to accrue and demonstrate a range of oral, written communication and practical skills appropriate to a field of work or study as an expression of mana reo.
- Explore and explain how te reo and tikanga informs personal and environmental connectedness as an expression of mana whenua.
- Analyse a range of Māori leadership attributes and principles that explore appropriate reo and tikanga solutions in familiar and unfamiliar contexts as an expression of mana tangata.
