Strategic Purpose Statement
The aim of the course is to produce graduates who are capable of implementing and supporting cloud and server computing environments. This course has a high-level ICT technical base with appropriate security content and the capabilities to specialise in a number of areas, including cloud, voice, wireless, network infrastructure and sustainability.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with graduates who have attained sufficient Cloud and Server Integration skills to be employed in an entry level role.
The qualification is fashioned to provide graduates who will have a specialised understanding of Cloud, Private Cloud and Server Environments. These graduates will be equipped with the soft skills, technical skills and knowledge to meet the needs of associated job roles.
Graduates will be capable of operating within applicable professional standards and practice, both independently and as part of a team.
Businesses, organisations and communities will benefit by having qualified Information Systems Support professionals who are able to contribute to Information Systems as relating to cloud and server support in Aotearoa New Zealand using skills and knowledge that will be internationally relevant
With a very high demand of Cloud professionals, New Zealand has seen a jump in demand for such professionals, but a want of required skillsets. This Diploma provides the essential abilities the professional needs to excel in cloud infrastructure, but also provide specialised solutions in the server, messaging and storage areas with a very strong emphasis on project management.
Graduate profile
Pathway into the Industry Students who complete this Level 7 Diploma are prepared for careers as System Engineers, Cloud Support Technicians, Cloud Architects, Messaging Engineers and other similar job roles, these roles fall under a number of different job titles, but the functional roles are involved in designing, implementing and supporting server infrastructures. Course /Programme Learning Outcomes The achievement of a Diploma in Cloud Management (Level 7) demonstrates that the holder has: Specialised knowledge to analyse and generate solutions to complex problems in the server, cloud Storage and messaging environments. Analysed, Adapted and Applied specialised processes to analyse IT Infrastructures and generate enterprise wide solutions. Advanced storage specialist knowledge to be applied in the design and implementation of storage Solutions Developed advanced skills and specialist knowledge of cloud and server environments with significant depth in some areas. Real-world experience in working with different teams on projects. Acquired advanced design and implementation skills through real-life project scenarios. Acquired good communication and problem solving skill. The ability to apply project management methodologies and practices.
Education pathways
Students who complete this Level 7 Diploma are being prepared to transition into the workplace as a Technical Specialist.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for the Diploma in Cloud Management are: International Students Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have at least a level 6 qualification in Information Technology OR an equivalent qualification. Applicants must have an overall band / score of 6.0 in IELTS or equivalent OR have English as a first language. An appropriate NZIS Student Permit / Visa to study at Techtorium if an international student. Domestic Students Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have at least a level 6 qualification in Information Technology OR an equivalent qualification. Applicants will complete an application / enrolment form. They may be interviewed to determine their interest in the course. The higher the level of interest, the student will be more likely to complete the course.
