Strategic Purpose Statement |
This certificate provides students with advanced hairdressing skills and knowledge in a range of professional hair services as well as applied salon management. Students will gain practical experience and increased capability in advanced cutting, colouring and styling techniques, chemical waving and straightening, hair design, client consultation and service, advanced hair and scalp analysis, and health and safety, promotional activity and sustainability within a salon. On completion of this qualification, students can pursue employment opportunities in commercial hairdressing salons and undertake industry-based training to complete final requirements for the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist).

Graduate profile |
After successful completion of this qualification, students will have the skills and knowledge to be able to: perform comprehensive client consultation to determine client needs, including advanced hair and scalp analysis; provide a range of advanced professional hairdressing services appropriate to a senior trainee hairdresser; combine and adapt a variety of hairdressing techniques and applications to create a variety of looks and effects; research, plan, design, create and evaluate a range of fashion images; apply knowledge of salon management and sustainability to improve client services, health and safety practices, salon systems and workflow, promotional activity, productivity and performance within a salon; seek employment opportunities in the hairdressing industry; and pursue an area of interest.
