Strategic Purpose Statement
Graduates of this qualification will gain knowledge and skills in the fundamental requirements of an employee within the wood manufacturing industries. They will gain knowledge in the common core that addresses employment and health and safety issues and a strand that is aligned with introductory skills in individual sectors and will ensure that graduates are familiar with the industry they are working in or entering and can perform duties responsibly, safely and efficiently. Depending on the chosen strand, Graduates will gain vocational skills in Wood Processing operations such as Planer Operations, Saw Centre Operations, Grading, Drying, Treatment, Engineered wood product Operations, Veneer Preparation, LVL and Plywood Operations, Post and Pole Operations, Saw and Tool Maintenance in Saw Doctoring.
Graduate profile
