Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is provide the New Zealand public sector with leaders who have general and specialised leadership capability that can be applied to a range of strategic and operational roles.

Graduates will benefit the New Zealand public by providing leaders who provide strategic leadership that will promote excellence in service delivery and/or policy that can meet current and future needs of the public.

Graduates will be in positions which allow these competencies to be exercised in influential leadership positions within dynamic organisational contexts.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Lead and communicate in a clear and persuasive way to achieve organisational and cross-public sector objectives.

- Coach and develop diverse talent in a public sector context to build the people capability required to deliver outcomes.
- Drive change through innovation and continuous improvement to sustainably strengthen long-term organisational performance to improve outcomes.
- Foster and develop inter-agency operations and activities within the public sector.
- Plan, prioritise, organise, and monitor work to meet short and long-term objectives within the legislative framework and ethical standards across the breadth of one's public sector role.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
