Strategic Purpose Statement
This qualification will provide both New Zealand and Global businesses and organisations with graduates who can apply advanced business management knowledge and skills to be able to manage within a business management environment. Specialisations are available in the programme which enables graduates to specialise in business management skills within particular contexts including digital ubiquitous marketing, brand management and business information technology.
In addition to advanced business management knowledge and skills, graduates with a specialisation in Digital Ubiquitous Marketingwill be able to develop and implement strategies and tactics with digital ubiquitous marketing practices aimed to reach new customers, build customer loyalty, retain customers and improve overall profitability.
In addition to advanced business management knowledge and skills, graduates with a specialisation in Brand Managementwill be able to design effective marketing programmes to build, measure and manage brand equity.
In addition to advanced business management knowledge and skills, graduates with a specialisation in Business Information Technologywill be able to manage e-business platforms to support strategic technology infused business processes in the digital age.
This qualification is targeted at people who have a Level 6 qualification in business or management or equivalent industry experience. This qualification will enable graduates to enter into a variety team leader / manager roles or progress onto further higher level study.

Core Management Skills
* Examine and analyse the overall process of strategy development to increase the performance of a company, thereby increasing the value of the enterprise to its owners and shareholders.
* Evaluate how companies use integrated marketing communication strategy to create and capture customer, and provide analysis on the importance of marketing channels.
* Analyse, evaluate and apply the principles of organizational behavior and HRM to effectively manage organisations to achieve competitive advantage.
* Examine and evaluate the fundamentals of financial management to support both short and long-term financial decisions of the firm.
SPECIALISATIONS
Brand Management Skills:
* Design and implement marketing programs and activities to build, measure and manage brand equity to improve the long term profitability of the brand.
* Employ technology to connect with consumers and position their brands to increase market share.
* Evaluate Information systems and research paradigms to explore opportunities in context of research and data management.
* Analyse brand value in the market by integrating tactical aspects of operational sales.
Digital Ubiquitous Marketing Skills:
* Employ technology to connect with consumers and position their brands to increase market share.
* Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the strategic applications of ubiquitous digital marketing using the very latest digital tools and practices.
* Adjust to the ever growing paradigm of E-Business by adopting trends of online platforms to remain competitive and support strategic technology infused business processes in digital age.
* Examine and evaluate methods, theories, concepts and ideas at the forefront of social media marketing. Business Information Technology Skills:
* Analyse and evaluate complex network environments including application layer protocols, Internet protocols, network interfaces, local and wide area networks, wireless networks, bridging, routing and webserver administration.
* Examine the principles, processes and methods of requirement analysis and system design.
* Adjust to the ever growing paradigm of E-Business by adopting trends of online platforms to remain competitive and support strategic technology infused business processes in the digital age.
* Conceptualize logical design of databases using ER modelling and able to manage database environment using structured query language (SQL).
Education pathways
This qualification can lead to degree or post graduate level qualifications in business management or other relevant industry qualifications; Example - Bachelor of Applied Management.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must provide evidence of: * A Level 6 or higher qualification in Business (or equivalent) OR * A degree in other disciplines related to selected specialisation OR * A minimum of four years relevant industry experience in a Business related field, requiring knowledge equivalent to at least a Level 6 Business qualification. AND * International students for whom English is not their first language, must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 (Academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5, or equivalent evidence of English Language proficiency in accordance with NZQA regulations.
