Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the community with naturopaths and nutritionists who can apply in-depth scientific knowledge of the human body to assist people with the prevention of lifestyle based health issues and health conditions or diseases.
Graduates will be able to work as practising Naturopaths or Nutritionists to provide good naturopathic nutrition advice based on current health science and wellness trends. |

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
* Apply knowledge of nutritional biochemistry and dietary modifications to clients across a range of health states to prevent and manage health imbalances * Apply herbal medicine materia medica to advise clients across a range of health states to prevent and manage health imbalances and restore wellbeing * Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and their interactions within the context of a natural therapies practice * Apply a range of complementary therapy approaches and evaluate their effectiveness in association with natural therapies practice * Identify and apply the key principles, concepts and techniques of the major frameworks of counselling in relation to clinical practice and consultation * Evaluate clinical diagnostic data within a natural therapies context for a range of health states * Provide professional culturally safe health advice in a clinical environment to help maintain wellbeing as well as prevent and manage health imbalances * Establish and manage the operation of a natural therapies practice or clinic. |

Education pathways |
Graduates will be able to undertake higher education in the areas of naturopathy, nutrition, health-related disciplines, health science, as well as complementary and natural medicine.
Graduates will have a pathway to degrees in Naturopathy and Nutrition. |
