Strategic Purpose Statement
The PGDIT provides a first step into postgraduate study for students who wish to pursue a research-oriented academic career, or who wish to enter the IT industry at a higher-than entry-level position. Each of these specialist topics requires in-depth knowledge of technical subjects, acquired through sustained independent study and scholarship.
The Software Development specialist topic equips students with the skills to pursue the discipline for analysing requirements and design, implement, test and deploy a software application. The Information Systems specialist topic deals with the acquisition, storage, transformation and analysis of data and information within a business setting. The Networks and Security specialist topic deals with the technical issues involved in designing, implementing and administering computer networks.
