Strategic Purpose Statement
The Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation is a Level 8 programme of 120 credits, which enables students who have completed a Bachelor's Degree or similar and are primarily the working adult career enhancer market, situated across all industries / sectors where digital disruption is in play (i.e. all industries and sectors in New Zealand/Aotearoa) to achieve a postgraduate level qualification that will equip the graduate with highly abstracted user-friendly digitization tools/technologies, processes and initiatives.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation programme enables completion of a comprehensive body of knowledge in the acceleration of business activities, processes, competencies, and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies. Individuals develop robust analysis, criticism and decision making at an advanced level leading to the application of an innovative digital improvement project within a specific business context. The programme develops fundamental knowledge to enable rational decision-making concerning research strategies.
Graduate profile
On successful completion of this qualification graduates will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate the purpose and function of emerging technologies that lead to digital transformation including the role that people, process, platforms and creative intelligence play as key transformation enablers.
2. Apply critical and creative thinking frameworks to review organisational capacity and readiness for interacting with contemporary digital environments.
3. Articulate a commitment to social justice and human rights through the development and implementation of human-centred design strategies
4. Critically analyse the integration of Mātauranga Māori (kawa and tikanga), Māori ethics and the Treaty of Waitangi principles within the digital industry; and through industry and community engagement, critically evaluate Māori community acceptance of digital transformation, and Māori as digital transformation leaders.
5. Contribute to the design of innovative digital transformation solutions, paying attention to ethical issues and practice, articulation of the field they are representing, the value-add to the organisation and the global nature of digital technologies.
6. Lead effective digital transformation solutions by executing sound judgement and independent accountable decision-making reflective of good leadership without bias.
7. Implement communication skills to transfer complex knowledge and ideas about digital transformation and creative intelligence to a variety of audiences.
Education pathways
Graduates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation wishing to pursue further study will be eligible to enter higher-level study leading to a Master's degree (in particular, the Master of Digital Transformation).
Entry Requirements
* A Bachelor degree, or Graduate Certificate or Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, or management studies)
or
* A Bachelor degree, or Graduate Certificate or Diploma in an unrelated discipline, and a minimum of two years' work experience that is relevant to the aim of this programme
or
* Professional experience and documented evidence of outcomes in the work environment that demonstrate an ability to perform in the programme and commit to achieving its outcomes (including a CV showing a minimum of six years relevant employment and recommendation letters from employers or professional colleagues).

* All applicants need to provide a Personal Statement, written by the applicant, explaining why they believe they should study on the programme, their motivations and further career aspirations.

* A personal interview may be required and will cover prior education (formal, informal and work based training), personal knowledge and experience of digital transformation and motivation for post graduate study.

* All entry applications are assessed by the Programme Director.

* Applicants without a Bachelor degree will also require formal approval by the Executive Dean and will be enrolled into the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation. If successful in that qualification, they may then enrol in the Master of Digital Transformation.

Individuals who hold the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation are eligible to enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation.
