Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the New Zealand rail industry with personnel who have the skills and knowledge required to plan, install and maintain rail infrastructure.
The qualification is intended for people already working in rail infrastructure. Graduates will be capable of working unsupervised. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Interpret plans and implement maintenance activities with an infrastructure team. - Install rail in preparation for continuous welded rail and track structures. - Maintain rail joints and track geometry. - Apply knowledge of track stability and track geometry to work in rail infrastructure. - Operate equipment on a rail infrastructure wagon. |
